6.5 Free-ride fins (Convertibles, Wave-slalom)

Concerning rake, stiffness and outline, this fin design represents a sort of hybrid between wave fin and slalom fin. Its performance in terms of speed and manoeuvre should deliver a good compromise, so you can use it under various wind and water conditions. It produces much more lift than a wave fin but, still is easy to control even at a higher speed, offers excellent manoeuvrability and the risk of spin-out should be lower. In sum, its potential of performance can be found rather easily which is what makes it ideal for the average sailor.

Its leading edge is curved, rake angle and thickness are of medium degree. The average length ranges from 27 up to 50 cm.
